About DesignQuantum

DesignQuantum is an independent publication about quantum technology. We cover quantum computing hardware and software, quantum networking and communications, quantum sensing, and the move to post-quantum cryptography, and we keep a directory of the companies and investors that make up the industry.

What we publish

  • News: short, sourced reports on announcements, research results, funding rounds, acquisitions and policy. Every story links to the primary source (the company, agency or paper) and to any news report we relied on.
  • Explainers: longer evergreen guides to the ideas behind the headlines, such as what a qubit is, how error correction works, or how the new post-quantum encryption standards fit together.
  • The directory: profiles of quantum companies and investors. Each profile lists the pages it was written from and the date it was last checked.

How we work

We write every article ourselves; we do not republish press releases. Facts, figures, dates and names come from sources we have read, and those sources are listed at the bottom of each page. When a source does not state something, such as a founding year or headquarters, we leave the field out rather than guess. Claims made by companies are attributed to them.

Parts of our research and drafting pipeline are automated, including gathering new announcements and translating pages into other languages. Automated steps work only from fetched sources, and every published page shows where its facts came from.

Languages

DesignQuantum is written in English and published in 25 languages. Translated pages keep company names, product names and source links exactly as in the original.

Corrections

If you see an error, or you represent a company and a profile is out of date, write to editor@designquantum.com with a link to a public source and we will review it.

Advertising and sponsorship

DesignQuantum is supported by clearly labeled sponsorships and advertising. Sponsors do not get editorial control or review of our coverage. See the Advertise page for details.
