Pelagic Systems is a spinout from the Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme (NQCP) at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, announced on October 27, 2026. The company says it is developing the software layer needed to operate quantum hardware, bringing tools to measure, understand and control processors into a single platform that integrates high-level experiment software with real-time hardware control.
According to the company, its technology was developed and demonstrated on superconducting quantum processors at NQCP and the Niels Bohr Institute, including characterizing and recalibrating key processor parameters on millisecond timescales. Its website describes moving estimation onto FPGA controllers: one example shows a qubit T1 measurement taking 9.8 ms on the controller compared with about 250 ms using host-mediated feedback. The platform is described as combining a data architecture, an experiment framework, real-time control and advanced quantum characterization, verification and validation (QCVV).
Pelagic says its development was supported by Innovation Fund Denmark through the InnoExplorer and Grand Solutions programs, and that it is offering its tools to research groups and quantum computing companies.
